Güey Mezcal
The mezcal Güey story begins with mezcalero Eleuterio García Martínez, a third-generation Maestro Mezcalero. In his youth, he was known throughout the region as El Solitario (The Loner). He was a young bold bull rider who traveled from town to town, living fast and fearlessly. Years later, he found himself in the United States, chasing a different kind of future. But over time, he realized the dream he was after had been waiting for him back home. That realization brought him back to Oaxaca, where he reconnected with the land, his craft, and his family’s legacy of making mezcal. His vision was simple and powerful: to one day share that legacy across the border.
