About the Brand
Código 1530 is a tequila brand in which country legend George Strait is an investor. Federico “Fede” Vaughan is the CEO and co-founder. The brand was originally a private stock of tequila available only for friends and family. The brand ages certain releases of their tequila in French white oak Napa cabernet barrels. The logo bears the Jerusalem Cross which is a symbol of the brand. This cross sits atop the Jalisco Coat of Arms and dates back to 1530 when Amatitán was recognized as a city of New Galicia; Jalisco was given a coat of arms by the Spanish monarchy. In 2022, French firm Pernod Ricard agreed to acquire a majority stake in Código 1530 for an undisclosed sum.
