Cuish Fieles Difuntos – Familia Monterrosa

Oaxaca

Cuish Fieles Difuntos, Familia Monterrosa is a Destilado de Agave Ensamble from Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca. The madrecuishe agave species Angustifolia and Convallis provide a robust base for this spirit. Copper distillation preserves the delicate botanicals added during the pechuga process. Cempasúchil flowers, lime, and guava infuse the liquid with bright fruit notes. The nose reveals strawberry jam, plums, and roasted pumpkin alongside green karwinskii pepper. A juicy palate follows with apple stew, cocoa powder, and dandelion hints. This complex profile balances the earthy agave with vibrant floral aromas. The result is a rich and layered spirit that honors traditional methods.
