El Buho Especial Arroqueño
El Buho Especial Arroqueño is a Joven mezcal from Oaxaca. Octavio Jiménez Monterroza produces this spirit in Santiago Matatlán under NOM-O110X. He uses 15 to 25 year old Americana agave for this batch. The process involves tahona milling and copper distillation to create the final profile. Notes of banana, agave sweetness, and dark red apple define the palate. Cinnamon and black pepper spices complement a hint of smoke on the nose. The 53% ABV delivers a long finish with fleeting heat and complex depth.
