Citrus and spicy taste profile, with defined flavors of mandarin, grapefruit and cinnamon, which provide a fresh and vibrant acidity. Sweet notes of pineapple are perceived and a sweetness reminiscent of caramel. Acidic flavors predominate, accompanied by a subtle sweetness. The alcoholic sensation is medium-low. The aftertaste shows an average persistence, dominated by citrus notes and fruity. Notes of pineapple, orange and lime are perceived. Fósforo Mezcal

About the Brand

Fósforo Mezcal is a female founded brand, led on both sides of the border by Lisa Detwiler and Mariana Hernández. Production is lead by fourth-generation master-mezcalero Aarón Alva Sánchez, Mariana’s husband. The initial launch of the brand in 2022 was focused on television personality, Mad Money’s Jim Cramer. He spent nearly three decades savoring some of Scotland’s finest whiskies which led to a fascination with mezcal. Lisa Detwiler, Jim’s wife, set out to find mezcal greatness and develop a brand that would echo Jim’s quest for perfection. In late 2018, after having visited a number of producers, Lisa and Jim met mezcalero Aarón Alva Sánchez and Mariana Hernández. After spending time in the community, seeing the agave fields and tasting the exceptional liquid, they knew that they had found something special.
