Hornitos Black Barrel Tequila is an Añejo spirit from Jalisco. Produced under NOM 1102, it uses Tequilana agave. The distiller employs a diffuser and double-barrel aging in used whisky barrels. This process imparts toasted oak, vanilla, and dark cherry candy notes. The profile features minimal agave presence alongside brined spices on the palate. A dry bitterness and lingering pepper heat define the finish. The result resembles bourbon more than traditional agave spirits. This unique take challenges expectations for diffuser-made tequila.
