Koch Arroqueno Ancestral (Olla de Barro)

Oaxaca

Koch Arroqueno Ancestral (Olla de Barro) is a Joven mezcal from Sola de Vega, Oaxaca. Producer Alberto Vasquez uses hand-milled 15-year-old Americana agave for this spirit. Distillation in clay pots under NOM-O171X yields deep cedar and leather notes. The palate presents sweet accents of pickled vegetables alongside cinnamon and cardamom spices. Subtle smoke lingers with a finish featuring bell pepper and mineral tones at 47.93% ABV. Wet vegetation and herbal nuances define the profile, while toasted coconut and earthy depth add complexity to this distinct expression.
