Koch Mexicano Penca Larga

Koch Mexicano Penca Larga

Oaxaca

Koch Mexicano Penca Larga is a mezcal from Sola de Vega, Oaxaca. Producer Alberto Vasquez uses Rhodacantha agave aged seven to nine years. NOM-O171X certifies this hand-milled spirit distilled in clay pots at forty eight point one percent alcohol. The nose offers banana bread, clove, rosemary and wet clay with rubber notes. Palate flavors include roasting nuts, sweet potato, pepper and ginger with a medium full body. The finish presents sugar plums, tamarind and white chocolate alongside dried leaves. This expression balances green herbaceousness with mineral clay dryness. A warming alcohol presence remains smooth despite its heat.
