Marfa Spirits Sotol (80 Proof) is a Joven expression from Janos, Chihuahua. It uses Dasylirion Leiophyllum aged for fifteen years in copper stills. Fresh cut hay and barnyard notes define this spirit’s character. These elements were particularly prominent in the forty percent alcohol by volume batch. The finish remains unremarkable due to dilution from the lower proof version. This label offers a direct look at raw agave character without added complexity or finishing nuances, yet the higher alcohol by volume batch provides a more robust and satisfying finish for those seeking greater depth in their tasting profile.

About the Brand
The Marfa Spirit Co. is the first and only distillery (as of 2022) in Marfa, Texas. It was founded by entrepreneurs Josh Shepard, Seth Siegel-Gardner, and Morgan Weber. Their debut product was Chihuahuan Desert Sotol in October 2021 – a collaboration with Sotol Don Celso in Janos, Mexico. The company also produces gin, rum, vodka, and citrus liqueurs.
