Satryna Tequila Añejo represents a specific classification within the tequila category. Tequila is an agave spirit protected by Mexican denomination of origin laws since 1974. It must be produced from Agave tequilana Weber variedad azul, commonly known as blue agave. The production zone is restricted to Jalisco and select municipalities in four other states. This label denotes an aged spirit that spends at least one year in oak barrels not exceeding 600 liters. Longer wood contact imparts deeper color and more barrel character than younger expressions.
