Acosta Tequila Extra Añejo

Acosta Tequila Extra Añejo

Acosta Tequila Extra Añejo belongs to a category protected by Mexican denomination of origin rules since 1974. This spirit must be produced from Agave tequilana Weber variedad azul, also known as blue agave. Production is restricted to Jalisco and specific municipalities in Guanajuato, Michoacán, Nayarit, and Tamaulipas. Every bottle carries a NOM number identifying the certified distillery. The Extra Añejo designation, established in 2006, requires aging for at least three years in oak barrels under 600 liters. This makes it the longest-aged tequila class with significant barrel influence, placing this label squarely within that rigorous standard.
