Agua del Sol Tobasiche – Berta Vasquez

Oaxaca

Agua del Sol Tobasiche, Berta Vasquez is a joven Destilado de Agave from San Baltazar Chichicapam, Oaxaca. This spirit uses Karwinskii agave milled in a tahona and distilled in copper. The profile features earthy minerals, wet soil, and fresh green grass on the nose. Palate notes include berry compote, lavender, citrus pith, ginger, and sweet industrial tones. The finish reveals walnuts, chestnuts, and a dry saline quality with variable smoke levels. Batch IV/2019 presents these distinct characteristics clearly to the drinker who appreciates savory vegetal undertones.

Agua del Sol

About the Brand

Agua del Sol was created by Felix Hernández Monterrosa and Adriana Correa, who are perhaps most well-known as the owners and operators of the Mezcales CUISH mezcalerias in Oaxaca City. Given the demands of the two mezcalerias, as well as some additional agave projects, the two of them created Agua del Sol with the intention of using to brand to present tiny batches of mezcal to the world.
