Balam Churique is a Joven Destilado de Agave from batch BCH-11-19, produced by Bienvenedo Fernandez at 47% ABV. The spirit presents an earthy nose of cut grass, wet soil, and ginger root. Palate notes include lemon zest, rock candy, bamboo shoots, and a distinct mineral quality. While some perceive a soapy or funky character that evolves with oxygen exposure, the profile remains bold and potent. The finish delivers strong heat alongside lingering woody and floral nuances, creating a complex and full-bodied agave spirit.

Color: Crystalline, very bright, with slight cold flashes could be perceived such as silver, very faint bluish or cold light gray under certain lighting conditions. Clarity: Clean and transparent, without impurities or turbidity.
Olfactory Phase
Aromatic profile with a combination of citrus, fruity, herbal and sweet notes. Aromas of pineapple, tangerine and grapefruit stand out, accompanied by apple yellow, mint and cinnamon, along with a sweet caramel note. The intensity aromatic is average, as is the alcoholic sensation.

Citrus and spicy taste profile, with defined flavors of mandarin, grapefruit and cinnamon, which provide a fresh and vibrant acidity. Sweet notes of pineapple are perceived and a sweetness reminiscent of caramel. Acidic flavors predominate, accompanied by a subtle sweetness. The alcoholic sensation is medium-low. The aftertaste shows an average persistence, dominated by citrus notes and fruity. Notes of pineapple, orange and lime are perceived. About the Brand
Balam Raicilla and Sotol was launched in 2016 by Xavier Villagran. He has taken careful consideration to find raicilleros that were previously not commercializing their raicilla, which has a reputation of being the moonshine of Mexico. Balam was the second brand of raicilla to legally enter the United States market. Villagrán sources artisanal spirits: mezcals in Oaxaca, raicilla in each of the three distilling regions of Jalisco (costa, sierra, llano), sotols from Chihuahua and Durango, and the rare churique from the tiny agave lechugilla.
