Bozal Cenizo
Bozal Cenizo is a Joven mezcal from Durango, bottled at 47% ABV under NOM 0472x. This expression from Pino Suarez showcases the maguey cenizo agave with distinct aromatic profiles of chocolate, spices, and light acidic funk. The palate delivers creamy smoke, caramel, and floral notes alongside melon and sweet potato. Earthy undertones of vanilla, clove, and butterscotch balance the minerality and lemon zest. A lingering heat and spiciness provide a robust finish, while mouth-numbing tingles highlight its semi-wild harvesting character.

About the Brand
Mezcal Bozal is a craft, artisan, handmade Mezcal. They celebrate the wild side of the Mezcal world and the wild agave used to produce such rich spirits. They use agave from the steep precarious hillsides of Oaxaca and Guerrero that are indigenous to the region. These varietals produce flavors that are exotically intense, with rich earth tones and savory smokiness. From the heart of the maguey these flavors are traditionally extracted to produce mezcal that is wildly refined. In November 2024, Bozal was acquired and brought under Mexican ownership by Maguey Spirits.
