Cruz de Fuego Tepextate is a Joven mezcal distilled from the Agave angustifolia plant. This expression presents bright green aromas of fresh peppers, bell pepper, and tomatillo alongside fruity notes of mango, cantaloupe, and banana. The palate offers a viscous texture with flavors of burnt orange peel, vanilla beans, and lemon lime. Minerality and slate define the finish, complemented by herbs like sage and cilantro. Bottled at 48% ABV in lots TX1-18 and TX2-18, it delivers a smooth profile with low acidity and minimal heat.

Olfactory Phase
Aromatic profile with a combination of citrus, fruity, herbal and sweet notes. Aromas of pineapple, tangerine and grapefruit stand out, accompanied by apple yellow, mint and cinnamon, along with a sweet caramel note. The intensity aromatic is average, as is the alcoholic sensation.

About the Brand
Cruz de Fuego Mezcal is operated by the mother-son duo Margarita Blas and Carlos Mendez Blas. They both live and work in Santiago Matatlan, Oaxaca and use a distillery that has copper stills. They both work out of the same palenque and follow similar traditional techniques in their mezcal production.
