Desert Door Original
Desert Door Original is a Joven sotol produced in Texas, distilled six times to yield a stripped and smooth spirit. The profile presents subtle spiced vanilla and creamy vegetal notes on the palate, followed by astringent green pepper minerals that linger with faint allspice and white peppercorn. Some batches exhibit rubber or industrial characteristics, while others offer herbal grassiness with sweet vanilla custard. The clear liquid remains approachable, offering a distinct American interpretation of the category through its unique multiple distillation stages and clean finish.

About the Brand
Desert Door Texas Sotol was founded by three US military veterans who met at the University of Texas Austin while pursuing MBAs. The idea for the company began in a class called “New Venture Creation”. A few years later Desert Door had produced it’s first batch of unaged sotol in their distillery in Driftwood, Texas using sotol plants harvested in the Chihuahuan Desert of West Texas.
