Don Lorenzo Tepeztate
Don Lorenzo Tepeztate is a joven mezcal from Santa Maria Zoquitlan distilled by Alvaro and Armando Hernandez. This spirit utilizes a twenty-five-year-old maguey agave roasted with red oak and fermented naturally. The aroma presents a distinct campfire smoke that leads into a solid, surprisingly smooth palate. Earthy notes dominate the taste alongside very light vegetable hints, including a wisp of asparagus. The finish offers good flavor depth yet turns slightly bitter. Produced with natural spring water in a copper still, this lot TP201 bottling holds forty-five percent alcohol.
