Espolon Doble Barrica Añejo - Bourbon is an añejo tequila from El Espolon, NOM 1440. This Jalisco spirit uses Tequilana agave cooked in an autoclave and milled by roller mill. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks with deep well water before double distillation in a column and copper coil still. Aging in used bourbon barrels imparts butterscotch, caramel, vanilla, and ripe fruit notes. The palate reveals maple, nutmeg, and pepper with a warm finish that lingers with dry sweetness. Deep well water supports the fermentation process in stainless steel tanks, ensuring purity before distillation.
