Kilinga Bacanora Reposado

Sonora

Kilinga Bacanora Reposado is a rested agave spirit from Sonora. This category requires Agave angustifolia Haw and is limited to thirty five municipalities in eastern Sonora. Protected by denomination of origin since 2000, it emerged from a period of prohibition that lasted until 1992. The reposado designation indicates aging for at least two months but less than one year in oak containers. This short wood contact adds light color and rounds the spirit while keeping the agave character prominent. Kilinga Bacanora Reposado belongs to this specific regional tradition.

Kilinga Bacanora

About the Brand

Kilinga Bacanora is a family-owned brand that was established in 2018 by Rodrigo Bojorquez Bours in Alamos, Sonora, Mexico. Rodrigo had tried many Bacanoras, but they mostly left him unimpressed and uninspired. However, he fell in love with this regionally-celebrated spirit after tasting a Bacanora made by a Sonoran friend; it was unlike anything else he had tasted. That experience inspired Rodrigo. He set out to craft a Bacanora of his own, one reflective of the unique Sonora terroir and artisan methods.
