Rayo Seco Criollo is a Joven Destilado de Agave from Estado de Mexico. This spirit presents aromas of wet leaves, pine needles, and moss alongside notes of orange hard candy and vanilla wafer. The palate offers smoky intensity with lactic hints, butterscotch, and dried fruit such as raisins. It balances sweet textures with a drier finish reminiscent of white wine. Produced in Malinalco, this batch highlights the region's potential for high quality spirits despite local market challenges. The result is a distinct profile that diverges from typical mezcal styles while remaining deeply rooted in its terroir.

Color: Crystalline, very bright, with slight cold flashes could be perceived such as silver, very faint bluish or cold light gray under certain lighting conditions. Clarity: Clean and transparent, without impurities or turbidity.
Olfactory Phase
Aromatic profile with a combination of citrus, fruity, herbal and sweet notes. Aromas of pineapple, tangerine and grapefruit stand out, accompanied by apple yellow, mint and cinnamon, along with a sweet caramel note. The intensity aromatic is average, as is the alcoholic sensation.

About the Brand
Rayo Seco Destilados is a brand featuring some of the finest producers in Guerrero, Mexico and beyond. They represent over five generations and they provide an introduction to the traditions of Guerrero to consumers across the globe. As of 2021, the state of Guerrero was still relatively untouched by many importers due to the decades-long unrest throughout much of the state. This is beginning to change as brands like Rayo Seco are at the forefront of exporting craft spirits from the region. Rayo Seco is also working with producers in other regions of Mexico.
