Rayo Seco Penca Ancha is a Joven Destilado de Agave from Lot 2024.04, bottled at 48% ABV by producer Israel Petronilo Apolinar in Atenango del Río, Guerrero. The Nussaviorum agave yields wild aromas of birthday cake, sweet cucumber pickle, and radishes. Hand milling in copper stills creates a confectionary sweet and rich palate. This profile differs significantly from other expressions of the same agave species, highlighting factors beyond the plant itself. The spirit offers a unique sensory profile distinct from the producer’s other offerings.

Aromatic profile with a combination of citrus, fruity, herbal and sweet notes. Aromas of pineapple, tangerine and grapefruit stand out, accompanied by apple yellow, mint and cinnamon, along with a sweet caramel note. The intensity aromatic is average, as is the alcoholic sensation.

About the Brand
Rayo Seco Destilados is a brand featuring some of the finest producers in Guerrero, Mexico and beyond. They represent over five generations and they provide an introduction to the traditions of Guerrero to consumers across the globe. As of 2021, the state of Guerrero was still relatively untouched by many importers due to the decades-long unrest throughout much of the state. This is beginning to change as brands like Rayo Seco are at the forefront of exporting craft spirits from the region. Rayo Seco is also working with producers in other regions of Mexico.
