Banhez Jabali
Banhez Jabali is a Joven mezcal produced from the Jabali agave species. The nose offers vanilla cola, grassy notes, and inviting perfume aromas alongside scents of chocolate milk and nail polish remover. The palate delivers sweetness, gentle smoke, and a lightly herbal profile with distinct lactaic and burnt caramel qualities. Berry fruitiness and a pine-needle tingling sensation appear in the profile, while some versions exhibit watery bitterness in the finish. This expression is known for its subtle character and unique complexity, reflecting the difficulty of working with this specific agave variety.

Banhez Mezcal is a co-operative comprised of 35+ families in the tiny village of San Miguel Ejutla in the central valley of Oaxaca. The Banhez Mezcal co-op is committed to sustainable, fair trade mezcal production the same way it’s been done by their ancestors for nearly two centuries. The Banhez Ensamble is made by the collective and the brand also has single agave varietals produced by a single mezcalero from the co-op.
