Banhez Tepeztate

Oaxaca

Banhez Tepeztate is a Joven mezcal from the Banhez cooperative, produced in Oaxaca using traditional Refresadora stills. This spirit presents a profile dominated by vegetal notes, including green bell pepper, jalapeño, and fresh grass. Aromatic layers often include pumpkin, leather, cinnamon, and sweet funk, while the palate delivers savory elements like jerky, almonds, and brine. The finish ranges from peppery and dry to sweet with hints of honeydew or blueberry. Some lots exhibit a soapy aftertaste, while others offer a clean, easy-drinking character with light smoke and mineral undertones.
