Don Lorenzo Tobala is a joven mezcal from Don Lorenzo Mezcal. Antonio Hernandez Lopez produces this spirit in Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca. He uses the tobalá agave species, also known as Potatorum. The distillation occurs in copper stills after milling with a tahona wheel. The aroma features strong citrus and brown sugar notes. An undercurrent of overripe tropical fruit supports the nose. Earthy characteristics define the palate while remaining fairly neutral. The finish reflects these aromatic notes without added sweetness. This profile captures the distinct funkiness of tobalá agave. The 50% ABV provides structure without overwhelming complexity.
